Since its launch in 2012, MacEwan University’s Undergraduate Student Research Initiative (USRI) has seen incredible growth and countless successes. Student-engaged research is a priority for the university, and MacEwan is proud to be home to so many inquisitive and imaginative individuals, eager to explore and understand the world around them. Their level of dedication is impressive, which is why USRI is so valuable to their experience.
USRI supports faculty-mentored student research, scholarly and creative activity outside the classroom. As well, USRI programs prepare students for future scholarly and career endeavours through competitive funding for projects and dissemination, publishing venues (such as MUSe) and showcasing their accomplishments during Student Research Week.
Herein we feature abstracts from Student Research Week; each is a glimpse of the innovative and intriguing work our students have been or continue to be involved in.
Read on to join us in celebrating these rewarding relationships and accomplishments, and to meet the next generation of great thinkers and creators.
